Our Founders

Bishop Davis is one of Jamaica's most loved and respected radio and television preacher who is aired on Love-101 FM and Love Television with the Voice of Power Broadcast and the Hour of Power Telecast. In addition, he established the first 24 hours per day Religious cable TV Channel 32 on the J.A.C.S. Cable Network.

Bishop Dr. Delford Davis, a man after God's own heart, called and sent to proclaim the Gospel of Jesus, uncompromisingly, to everyone.

He was born in Mount Charles District, Mavis Bank, St. Andrew, then sooner moved to Portland where he spent his early boyhood days and then on to Kingston in his teenage years. It was during his teenage years that he became converted in 1971. From a life firmly rooted and grounded in the Word, he experienced rapid spiritual growth and maturity and availed himself to be mightily used of God.

Cognizant of the call of God on his life, he further equipped himself for ministry work by pursuing Biblical studies at the Jamaica School of Evangelism; Tabernacle of Prayer Bible Institute, USA; International Correspondence Institute, USA and Jacksonville Theological Seminary, Florida, USA. His most recent achievements included the award of Bachelor of Theology (Master of Religious Arts in Christian Psychology) and Doctor of Divinity (Honorary).

Bishop Davis was first commissioned as full time Pastor of the Jamaica Evangelistic Association from 1976 - 1980. He also did Pastoral duties at the Association's branch Church in Mandeville before leaving the island in 1980. For two years he did the work of an Evangelist in United States of America. His Godliness, humility, discipline and fearless profound preaching won him a place in the hearts of everyone who knows and hears him.

Having received a commission from the Lord, he returned to the island of Jamaica, more specifically to Waterford, St. Catherine, where he founded and established, The Power of Faith Ministries, on the 24th of April 1983. This ministry became the light in the community of Waterford. Many souls were won for the Kingdom of God, and what was once a volatile community, became a model, because the seed of righteousness was sown therein as a result of Bishop Davis' obedience to the Lord's commission.

The Church grew rapidly, and in 1989 Bishop Davis commenced the construction of the Miracle Cathedral (Headquarters) in Portmore Town Centre. Being a visionary leader who firmly believes in the establishment and extension of God’s work, he also pioneered, built and established branch Churches both locally and internationally. Today he is carrying out the mission of establishing a multipurpose complex that will provide greater services to the Church and communities of Portmore.

Bishop Davis is one of Jamaica's most loved and respected radio and television preacher who is aired on Love 101 FM and Love Television with the Voice of Power Broadcast and the Hour of Power Telecast. In addition, he established the first 24 hours per day Religious cable TV Channel 32 on the J.A.C.S. Cable Network. This medium provided the avenue through which his dynamic, life-changing ministry found its way into the homes of thousands in the Portmore and other communities.

Besides being a full time Pastor and Overseer, he is also a well-recognised marriage office. He was the recipient of the Award - Most Outstanding Marriage Officer for the Year 2000. He is also School Chaplain for the Portsmouth Primary School, School Board Chairman for the Power of Faith Ministries Basic School, Vice President of the Jamaica Association of Full Gospel Churches and he also sits on the Board of LOVE FM.

Today Bishop Davis pastors one of Jamaica's largest congregations. His leadership style is one that embraces participation and involvement of the Church Board as well as the general membership. He is involved in all social aspects of Church life, including sporting activities. He has a great passion for cricket and plays the part of a batsman on the married men cricket team.

How he Pastors, in addition to numerous duties, is through the empowerment of the Holy Spirit. His voice is a communication of spiritual messages that are aimed at bringing people into fellowship with God. He maintains sound doctrine, high moral standards and Christian values. He is truly a faithful leader who leads with integrity. His success in ministry is attributed to his strong faith, obedience and submissiveness to God's Will; a good steward, who is furnished with the five-fold gifts of Apostle, Prophet, Evangelist, Pastor and Teacher. He is one who walks humble before His God.

Bishop Davis is the husband of one wife, happily married for 33 years to Petrova Hitchman, a union which has produced three children, Mike-Angello Davis, Emiel Davis and Marshalee Davis. Minister Petrova Davis, an effective Minister of the Gospel gives her all to the operations of the ministry. She plays an integral role in the successful development of a number of departments and programmes within this ministry, some of which include the Young Converts Class, Young Battalion Prayer Group, The Melodies of Praise Choir (Kiddies & Teens), Bible Studies Department, Ushers Department, Dean of Studies of Bible Word Institute, Director of the Melodies of Praise Production, to name a few. Even with a very compact workload, she manages to care for her family and minister to the spiritual and social needs of many. Their first son Mike-Angello Davis (who is now married to Wenise Neil). They also have made Bishop & Minister Davis proud grandparents with the birth of their son Tajh-Michael D'Angello Davis.

This humble man of God sees himself as only “a nobody, trying to tell everybody about somebody who can save everybody.”

It is not by might, nor by power, but by the Spirit that worketh in him to do his Father's will in service to mankind. His work, worth and contribution towards the development of the church and this nation on a whole, is inestimable. Bishop Davis’ life stands as a testimony of faithfulness, commitment, fortitude, humility, courage and zeal in God's service. We bless God for him and his family.
